Hi friends! I’m on a mission to bring back the lost art of garment sewing to the modern day woman! What started as a nap time hobby, has turned into a full time passion! You can catch me sharing daily tips, tricks, and sewing inspiration online, while also simultaneously finding humor in the inevitable mistakes I make along the way. I am a modern quilter, fibre artist and pattern designer inspired by the great outdoors. With the help of my mom, I made my first quilt at age four. Since then, I’ve been creating and making things with my hands practically non-stop! I’ve tried many different crafts and mediums over the years, but I kept coming back to quilts. In 2017, I launched The Blanket Statement Quilt Co as a platform for modern, geometric quilt & bag patterns (and so much more!). At that time, being a relative outsider to the quilting industry, I understood first-hand how overwhelming and intimidating quilting can seem - so I made it my mission to design patterns that are not only modern, unique and eye-catching, but also accessible for quilters of all skill levels!

I am an architect by training and an artisan by heart! I like to make all sorts of things, and I’m passionate about calligraphy, everything paper, felt, handmade creations & interior design. What moves me is making content and projects that motivate myself along with the people around me to live a mindful, colourful & creative life :-)

Daisi Toegel is a Quilter and Pattern Designer of quilts and bags. Her work is a mix of traditional and modern style. She loves working with scrap fabrics, and in her leisure time she enjoys hand stitching, her favorite technique is English paper piecing.
