TEMPLATE (please attach) – Print the template using the “fit to page” option on your printer. Cut out the 3 parts of the template to separate them (cap, gills and stem).

Cutting instructions:

Color A = Cut (1) 12 ½” x 8 ½” rectangle;

For each cB through cG = Cut (1) 12 ½” x 2 ½” strip;

Color H = Cut (1) 21 x 13” rectangle;

From the fabric scraps of your choice cut (1) part of each (3) parts of the template in different colors. Simply trace the template pieces with the back side of the paper shapes facing the back side of the fabric using a regular pen. Cut out and press each piece. When sewing face the right side up.

1.       Sew the main patchwork, with the rectangle from cA on the right and all six strips of colors cB through cG alongside. Press all seams open.

2.       Baste both main patchwork and backing fabric each on the batting of your choice and quilt using the design of your preference.

3.       Trim both parts to 12 ½” x 20 ½”.

4.       Layout the mushroom parts on top of cA portion of the patchwork centralizing it. Pin to secure it in place. No stabilizer is needed in this step, it’s your preference to use it.

5.    Sew along the edges of all shapes to raw applique the mushroom design. Press when done.

6.    With fabric sides touching and batting sides facing out, clip together both pillow parts and sew along the edges, leave a 5” opening to turn. Backstitch in the beginning and end of the seams to secure.

7.    Clip the corners before the seams diagonally before turning the project.

8.    Turn the project so the right side is facing out, carefully push the corners out and press the pillow to set.

9.     Fill it with Fiber fill stuffing to the amount desired (the pillow on the photo was filled with approx. 7oz).

10.    Hand sew the turning hole to close and you’re all done!
