Tools needed:
RM-SG-01 18" x 24" Green Double-Sided, Self-Healing Rotary Mat
45mm RTY-2/C Quick-Change Rotary Cutter
QR-6x24 6”x24” Frosted Acrylic Ruler
QR-6S 6 1/2" Square Frosted Acrylic Ruler
QR-4S 4 1/2" Square Frosted Acrylic Ruler
5-Inch SCS-4 Precision Appliqué Scissors

Cutting instructions:
From the FE pieces (colors A, B, C, D, F and G):
Cut (2) 4” x WOF strips; sub cut (10) 4” squares from color A, and (9) 4” from colors B, C, D, F and G.
From color E, cut:
(1) 4” x WOF; sub cut (9) 4” squares.
(4) 2 ¼” x WOF strips.

Sew the patchwork:
Following the pattern below, sew the rows pressing the seams to opposite sides, then sew the rows together nesting the seams and pressing them open.

The quilt top should measure 28.5” square.

From fabric E, use each 2 ¼” x WOF for each of the 4 sides of the quilt top.
Start sewing after 1/4” from each edge and stop sewing before ¼” from the other edge on each side.

Each side will overlap the next piece on top. Cut the excess of each strip leaving an approximate 4 inches tale.

Fold the part of the strip on top to the left to form an angle corner.

Fold the folded strip back and press the entire border strip with the right side facing up. The diagonal fold will overlap on the corner with a finish side as in a mitered corner. Topstitch it in place to finish. Cut the excess fabric.
Turn the project as you go, and repeat the process for all four corners.

Without adding batting, lay the quilt top right sides together with the 1yd of fabric H and baste using safety pins. Cut the excess fabric around it, leaving around 2 inches to trim after sewing. Leave a 6in opening to turn.
Sew along the edges and after sewing, cut each corner diagonally being careful not to cut the seam.
Turn the project to the right side and give it a good press. Topstitch the entire edge to finish and close the turning hole. Optionally, topstitch the base of the border as well.

You’re all done!
