Leisure wear and a great pair of Yoga pants can become a staple piece in your wardrobe. You can make your own yoga pants and leisure wear with this quick and easy tutorial below.

 

Tool & Supplies needed:

 Knit fabric suitable for activewear - (Yards based on pattern size cut)

1” knit elastic

OLFA M-MG-01 24" x 36" Green Double-Sided, Self-Healing Rotary Mat

OLFA 45mm RTY-2/C Quick-Change Rotary Cutter, Aqua

OLFA 5-Inch SCS-1 Serrated-Edge Stainless Steel Scissors

 

 

Cutting & Prep

 

  1. FIrst, print, assemble and cut out your FREE pattern.

 

  1. Cut all the pieces out for the pattern using your Olfa cutting tools.

 

Sewing Instructions

  1. With right sides facing pin front and back legs together at inseams matching raw edges.
  2. Trim and finish seams.
  3. Repeat for both legs.

  1. With right sides facing, insert one leg into the other, matching up raw edges of waistband and crotch seam.
  2. Stitch crotch seam from front to back.

  1. Finish seam and turn pants right side out

  1. With right sides together pin front and back waistbands together at the sides matching raw edges. Stitch.
  2. Repeat for waistband facing.

  1. With right sides together, line up raw edges and seams of the waistband and waistband facing. Pin. Stitch.

  1. Cute your elastic circumference of your waist minus 4 inches.

  1. Overlap the ends. Pin.

  1. Sew the ends together using a zig zag stitch.

  1. Then place your elastic between the two layers of the waist band, laying it close to the seam.

  1. Fit and secure elastic to waistband seam allowance using a zig zag stitch.

  1. With right sides facing,pin the raw edges of the waistband to the raw edges of the pants matching the seams and catching both edges of waistband.
  2. Finish raw seams.

  1. Fold and sew the hem of the pants.
