How to Create a Turban Headband

Hair accessories and headbands make great projects for beginner sewist. I personally love them for workouts. But there are so many ways to create cute head accessories. Follow the tutorial below for a quick and easiest way to create a cool turban headband.

 

TOOLS & SUPPLIES NEEDED:

 

 

Clips/Pins

OLFA 24 X 36 SELF HEALING ROTARY MAT

OLFA 45 mm Rotary Cutter

OLFA 5 INCH SERRATED EDGE STAINLESS STEEL SCISSORS

 

FABRIC:

Cut your chosen knit fabric to size at: 8 ½  x 18 ½  

                                                

INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

With right sides together, fold fabric in half lengthwise matching raw edges.

 

 

Pin. Stitch using ⅜ seam allowance.

 

 

 

Turn fabric right side out.

 

With seam centered in the middle press headband flat.

 

 

 

With the  right side up. Bring the bottom edge of the right side to the middle of the left side and line up with the raw edge.

 

 

Wrap extended sides over each other,with right extended side over top and left extended side over the bottom, sandwiching the edges together.

 

 

Secure with clips or pins.

 

 

Stitch a straight or zig zag stitch with the machine.

 

 

Trim seam allowance

 

 

Turn the headband right side out tucking in the seam.

 

 

Voila! You're done.
