It’s my turn! I was so thrilled when Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson asked me to be a part of this wonderful project along with so many talented designers! This week I get the pleasure of unveiling my block for The Splendid Sampler™ 2 Sew-Along! My block, Lot’s o’ Hexies, can be found on page 84 of The Splendid Sampler 2 book.
When I was thinking of a design I knew I wanted it to include hexies as they are my favorite thing to stitch. I truly enjoy the quite time and hand work piecing them together. In my head I had a vision of hexies exploding like fireworks so Lot’s o’ Hexies was born.
Supplies I used:
I started quilting along with The Splendid Sampler 2 here on the OLFA blog here some months back. I’m a little behind on my blocks but still trucking along. I can’t wait to see my completed quilt!
Today I wanted to share a little tip for making little hexies. When I’m making a more ‘normal’ size hexie I enjoy hand stitching them. However, with these being as little as they are I was more successful with gluing them so I didn’t have an issue with the fabric splitting.
I hope you enjoy making my block! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s versions! Be sure to head over to The Splendid Sampler page to see all the other great blocks being released this week!
