Most people ask us how to clean their mats. Well regular cleaning of your OLFA cutting mats will extend their use. To clean your OLFA® mat, use a generous amount of room-temperature water and a few drops of mild detergent. Use a soft, mild bristle brush such as a toothbrush or mushroom brush to create a lather and gently clean your mat. Rinse with room-temperature water and wipe dry with a cotton towel. There’s no need to soak it in a tub of water. Please note that warm or hot water and direct sunlight may damage the mat.
If you have been cutting fleece or batting and have fibers stuck in the cuts, try using a rubber artist’s eraser to loosen them. Rub it over the fibers and they’ll come out easily. When you’re cutting these types of fabric, move around on your mat and don’t cut in the same place over and over.
