Whether Mom is a crafter, a cook, or prefers to garden, there is always a time that she'd like to protect her clothing from the stains of the current project. This apron is a fun and practical way to say 'thanks' for all the many projects she has helped you with over the years.

Top of apron bib 10" across - Apron at waist 25" wide - Length 33" top to bottom before hemming
Use a 1/4" hem for apron sides.
Turn hem at bottom twice (1" each time) before stitching to provide some extra weight at the bottom
Cut straps on the bias 3" wide, fold the 3" width in half to make a 1/2" tape, then fold each side folded into the center making a 3/4" bias tape.
Bias tape was made 96" long, and used in one piece to make the ties, go up each side to the neck, and for the top of the bib (see red line in image at right). Use bias mark on OLFA cutting mat as a guide.
Stitch bias strip to apron, leaving 28" free for tie on each side. The strap around the neck (see green line in image at right), is cut 23".
Cut flower yo-yos, 2 small (4" diameter), and one large (5 1/2" diameter), using the OFLA circle cutter to get a perfect circle.
Cut applique letters and leaves (pattern included in separate file titled "Mom Apron Letters", use fusible web as directed on packaging.
Add flower yo-yos, leaves and lettering.
