Create a decorative hot potato bag for yourself or a friend. Fits 2 potatoes, and works every time.

Time to Complete: 1-1/2 Hours



Tools Needed:

Materials Needed:
  • Cotton Fabric - 10"x45" for exterior
  • Cotton Batting
  • Cotton Fabric for Bias Binding
  • 1" Square of Velco
Instructions
  • Cut four - 8-1/2" circles from fabric for exterior.
  • Cut two - 8-1/2" circles from cotton batting.
  • Cut one - 2-1/4" wide bias strip of binding fabric approximately 30" - 32" long.
  • Sandwich each circle of batting between two circles of fabric, right sides out. Sew a 1/4" seam around outside of each circle.
  • One one circle, fold under 3" and topstitch.
  • Stitch the two circles together using a 1/4" seam.
  • Prepare bais binding by pressing bias strips wrong sides together.
  • Sew bias binding to right side of circles 1/4" from edge. Turn strip to back and hand stitch in place. (Trim seam before turning if necessary.) Press binding lightly.
  • Turn flap to close, mark placement of Velcro and sew on by machine.
  • To get the perfect, moist, baked potatoe every time: Wash and dry potatoe.
  • Place potato in bag. Close. Put microwave.
  • Bakes 1 medium potato in 4-6 minutes. When bag because soiled, wash and dry.
